Carlos Michael was born December 28, 1961, in Los Angeles, California.
Carlos Michael began writing at a very young age. Like his mother before him, Carlos Michael always enjoyed writing poetry, short stories, and essays about current events. It wasn't until he entered high school that he became passionate about writing, specializing in creative writing and essays before joining the school newspaper, The Illiad.
Between 1990 and 1991, Carlos Michael was given the opportunity to write for a local newspaper, The Hesperia Resorter, (Hesperia, CA.). Carlos Michael's greatest joy was a letter he received from the Director of the local Toys-4-Tots program thanking Carlos Michael for writing a wonderful article about the local Toys-4-Tots program located in Victorville, California.
Carlos Michael published his first book, Baltimore Monday: Celebrating Life beyond Sexual Abuse in 2006. The book chronicles Carlos' experiences related to being sexually abused as a child.
This was followed by three more books: Two Fist Running Horse (2007); Let There Be Light (2008), and 12 Doors Knocking (2009).
Carlos Michael’s far reaching energy, enthusiasm,
smile, sense of humor and zest for life stems from his faith in God, his children, his past experiences, his family, his large circle of friends, his love for humanity, and the kindness of his human spirit.
Carlos Michael's passions are God, family, friends, education and making and meeting new friends. "I believe we have much that we can learn from each other. I believe the greatest gift God gave each of us (outside of all things Divine), is each other," (Carlos Michael Padilla, 2006).
“Life is a learning process. You
have to learn how to crawl before you can walk and you have to learn how to
walk before you can run.” (--Unknown)
